PS 163, Flushing Heights School

Hey Students and Parents,

I hope you all are well. This is crazy! 5 weeks confined to our homes. I know that some of you may be scared or nervous. Maybe some of you are cool with this and going with the flow. Don’t you worry, we will get through this!

This is definitely something new. Each generation has a defining moment in history. For an older generation, it was the assassination of President Kennedy. For me it was September 11th, 2001. These are moments that various generations will never forget. This might be your moment. The moment where almost the entire United States, actually, the entire world has stopped in time because of this virus. Whether this situation gets worse or not (hopefully not), only time will tell. Every generation that experiences moments in history like this do two things (in my opinion): 1. We learn. Whether it's something about ourselves or the world; we learn something. 2. We become stronger. Strength comes in many forms, so the way in which we grow stronger will vary. Don't think that I am not thinking about you and just putting up assignments. This is not true. Teachers worry about their students outside of school too. You will get through this. WE will get through this. Do your work, stay safe, and wash your hands. I just hope I remember all your names when we get back. KIDDING! I'm KIDDING! See you soon.
